Welcome to the most exclusive address in Thailand you’ve never heard of.

Kiri Private Reserve is not a resort, it’s a world of its own, a barefoot kingdom stitched into the lush northern rim of Koh Kood. Tucked within one of the last untouched island jungles in Thailand, this private sanctuary is reachable only by boat or private plane, making every arrival feel like a scene from a modern-day odyssey. From the moment your feet touch the handcrafted wooden jetty, there’s a feeling of returning to something ancient, elemental, and exquisitely rare. It unfolds across 4,000 square metres of regenerative wilderness, where a private bay laps at the jungle’s edge and every path leads toward stillness, ritual, and rediscovery.

Originally designed with regenerative architecture in mind, the Reserve is made almost entirely from reclaimed wood, sustainable bamboo, and locally quarried stone. The structures breathe with the island, built without heavy machinery, designed for cross-ventilation, and powered largely by the sun. This is barefoot luxury that doesn't shout, it hums. It respects rhythm, terrain, and the intimacy of place. The villas are suspended between sea and jungle, with nature woven into every line.

Kiri Private Reserve is a fully integrated resort on Koh Kood, designed as an homage to nature, culture, and time unbound. It reimagines luxury not through excess, but through experience, one that honours the land, invites introspection, and elevates simplicity. This is not a place for ticking boxes, it is a place for losing them entirely. Here, daily rhythms are dictated by the tide, the wind, and your willingness to surrender to stillness.

Surrounded by untouched jungle and reef-laced shores, Kiri offers a fully immersive environment for barefoot travellers, families, and seekers of regenerative rest. The resort features a variety of elevated accommodations, spanning ocean-facing residences, forest-cloaked hideaways, and airy open-plan sanctuaries. Guests can dine in multiple venues, each celebrating local ingredients and Thai culinary tradition, unwind in the hilltop wellness spa, stargaze at the beachfront observatory, or watch a classic film under the stars at the outdoor cinema. For younger explorers, the jungle gym and nature-inspired playgrounds offer boundless adventure.

There are no shoes, no clocks, and absolutely no one else. The Reserve is yours, entirely. Ten bedrooms stretch across standalone jungle villas and sea-facing pavilions. Indoor-outdoor lounges feel like extensions of the forest, with open walls that welcome breeze and birdsong. A bamboo-clad dining sala hosts long, slow feasts made from daily-harvested ingredients. An oversized saltwater pool ripples toward the horizon, a sanctuary for sunrise swims and moonlit floats. And when night falls, a private cinema opens to the stars, framed by lanterns and hushed waves.

The resort’s ethos runs deeper than design. It is present in the gentle hospitality of the team, the relationships with local farmers and fishermen, the reverence for place. Kiri Private Reserve is not just a stay, it is a rhythm, a reset, a return to what matters most. It is a sanctuary for those ready to remember how it feels to belong to the Earth again.

KIRI’S BEATING HEART

Kiri is not simply a destination, it is a way of being. A philosophy of barefoot luxury rooted in stillness, designed to deepen your relationship with nature, place, and self.

The SLOJOURN spark

FIRST. Jungle Immersion. You truly cannot comprehend the magnitude and expansiveness of the jungle you’re in, fringed with flawless beaches. This is a masterclass in becoming one with nature.

SECOND. Golf Buggy Journeys. Self driving around the Resort grounds on a golf buggy is a delightfully fun way to embrace your inner child (straight to the chocolate room for me).

THIRD. Sea to Table. Line-caught reef fish grilled over coconut husk flame, served under a canopy of palms on the most uninterrupted island beach.

Where you dwell

Every space at Kiri is elemental, elevated, and quietly luxurious. Expect jungle-view decks, driftwood textures, natural fibre furnishings, and breeze-cooled open spaces designed for deep rest. Some face the ocean, others are nestled into the forest, but all are shaped for spacious privacy and slow awakening. No matter where you land here, you will find majesty and magic intertwined.

The art of living

Your days unfold like tides, unforced, intuitive, intimate. Begin with a coconut in hand and sand between your toes. Drift from the spa to the sea. Take a Thai cooking class or sit still and watch the light change. Life here isn’t scheduled, it’s sensed.

Our favourite thing to do was take the boat across the lagoon to the beach to lay on the sun beds and make the difficult choice between another swim or another cocktail.

The forever lens

  • WATER: Rainwater harvesting and triple-filtered on-site drinking systems are in place. Reused greywater nourishes native landscaping, and all laundry systems prioritise low consumption.

WASTE: Kiri operates an on-site Eco Centro plant that recycles 90 percent of its solid waste. Organic matter is composted to feed the resort gardens, while glass, plastics, and metal are upcycled or responsibly repurposed. A strict no single-use plastic policy runs across all guest and staff operations.

ARCHITECTURE: The entire resort was built using reclaimed wood, sustainable bamboo, and local stone. Designed for cross-ventilation and natural cooling, structures minimise impact while maximising connection. Interiors draw from Thai artisan traditions with handwoven fabrics and carved detailing.

ENERGY: Kiri uses solar power and battery storage for much of its energy needs. Passive design features like low-voltage lighting, open-air pavilions, and shaded paths reduce demand across the resort.

MARINE REGENERATION: The resort has implemented solar-powered artificial reef systems near Koh Raet, designed to support coral growth and attract marine biodiversity.

The together lens

  • LOCAL LIVELIHOODS: Kiri prioritises hiring staff from neighbouring villages, ensuring economic benefit and skill-building remain local. Thai farmers and fisherfolk supply the kitchens, with long-term partnerships based on seasonal produce and sustainable practice.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE: Guests can participate in traditional Buddhist blessings, Thai cooking classes, and visits to Ao Salat fishing village. These experiences are crafted in collaboration with local communities and elders.

EDUCATION: Children are introduced to regenerative practices through Kiri’s Eco Den and The Den, where creative workshops and eco-awareness programs nurture curiosity and environmental stewardship.

CONSERVATION SUPPORT: The resort actively contributes to marine conservation and mangrove reforestation on Koh Kood, helping preserve both ocean and island ecosystems.

The take it with you

  • • A palm-wrapped journal of sunrise thoughts
    • Some beautiful linen pieces from the Resort boutique
    • A bottle of cold pressed coconut oil from the spa
    • A new slowness in your stride

WE SLOJOURNED HERE

“Kiri isn’t just a stay. It’s a chapter, a coming home. A whole island lullaby you didn’t know you needed. We’ve been coming here for a decade, and struggle to find a parallel to this island home that is as all encompassing and explorer stirring. ”

The ways you can move

SLOJOURN is a members-only platform for the new vanguard of conscious travellers. That’s you.

In that vein, we support a multitude of ways to book your travel.

  1. Book directly with SLOJOURN’S travel team (we just don’t book flights, friend).

  2. Book via our preferred travel partners that we can connect you with.

  3. Use this as your guide and DIY your way through the world (love that for you, just take note of the destinations that prohibit this such as Bhutan, Socotra… etc.)
