You’re dreaming at…
LOST LINDENBERG
Indonesia - Bali
A grown-up hideout for barefoot rebels - where architecture whispers, waves crash, and time slows to the pace of ritual
𓇼
WILDLY PLACED: Hidden behind black lava fields and palms on Bali’s untamed west coast - just outside the village of Pekutatan.
EDITORIAL VIBE: If Wes Anderson had a surf altar. Brutalist towers rise through coconut trees, with interiors that blend Bauhaus, Balinese craft, and slow sensualism. You arrive by secret path and are greeted by incense and tide.
CORE PILLARS: Communal dining, intentional architecture, local surf culture, slow ritual, conservation ethos.
MUSE MOOD: She surfs at sunrise, chants at dusk, and journals by moonlight with salt still on her skin.
BEST TIME TO GO: May – September for peak waves and dry, golden light.
THE LOOK: Eight monolithic guest towers. Slatted timber, linen drapes, hand-tiled bathrooms, sculptural flow.
WHO’S IT FOR: Conscious surfers, quiet creatives, design pilgrims, soul seekers.
INDULGENCE SPECTRUM: From USD$340 per night, including plant-based breakfast, surf guiding, and jungle calm.
Lost Lindenberg doesn’t feel designed - it feels summoned. Towering yet tranquil, its modernist forms hide within palms like surf deities carved in concrete. This is a place where silence has texture, where shadows flicker like ancient memory, and each structure is both shrine and shelter. It’s not a resort - it’s a reverent pause woven into nature’s rhythm, a meditation you enter rather than observe.
You arrive through an unmarked path, past palm fronds that brush your shoulders and volcanic rock warmed by sun. You enter barefoot. Shoes aren’t needed - movement here is sensory, instinctive, and sacred. Paths wind through lava rock and torch ginger, each bend revealing a vignette of stillness. You’ll notice the sound of wind before conversation, the scent of incense before breakfast. Days begin with herbal tonics - local jamu laced with turmeric and lime - and end with bonfires, starlight, and stories folded in flame. The rituals are not decorative - they're devotional. It’s not performative. It’s sacred, subtle, and softly cinematic, like a dream scored to crashing waves and flickering candlelight.
The energy is collective but never forced: meals are shared, stories exchanged, surf spots whispered with the intimacy of family secrets passed hand to hand. You may arrive solo, but you won’t feel alone.
Lost holds space for connection without demand. And yet, solitude is easy, even invited. Your tower room is elevated - literally and emotionally - crafted from timber, calm, and curated quietude. Every design detail slows the breath, from linen drapes that catch the ocean breeze to ceramics that warm your hands with intention. Books live next to incense. Light shifts like memory.
Lost Lindenberg is where time folds inward. Where simplicity becomes sanctuary. At Lost, you don’t check in. You drop in. Into presence. Into land. Into yourself. And when you leave, a part of you remains - somewhere between a salt-rinsed sarong and the scent of frangipani on dusk air.
LOST LINDENBERG’S BEATING HEART
A collaborative creation from the Lindenberg Group (Germany) and Indonesian partners, Lost honours its site’s history and spiritual charge. The team worked with local builders, carvers, and priests to create a resort that respects land, lineage, and wave.

Jungle Panorama Suite
Eight identical guest towers, perched atop stilts and surrounded by dense foliage. Each features floor-to-ceiling glass, king beds, vintage details, and a balcony that opens to the jungle and sea.
Interior elements are handmade - teak furniture, ceramic vessels, handwoven throws. Outside: nothing but palms and Pacific horizon.
DON’T SLEEP ON THESE ROOMS (BUT DO SLEEP IN THEM)

The art of living
Mornings are for surf checks and jamu. Days drift between sea, board, and shade. Meals are slow, shared, and wholly plant-based. The staff don’t serve - they remember you.
There are no itineraries here. Just rhythm.
Evenings mean incense, bonfire, deep conversations, and the kind of sleep only possible near water.
The forever lens
-
WATER: Refillable glass bottles in every tower, filtered drinking stations available across the property, and a saltwater pool maintained with natural filtration. Guests are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles, further reducing any reliance on plastic. Rainwater harvesting supports irrigation.
WASTE: No single-use plastic policy strictly enforced. The resort prioritises composting food waste, sourcing from nearby growers, and using reusable textiles and biodegradable products across all operations.
ARCHITECTURE: The resort’s design intentionally preserves existing flora—structures are built on stilts to protect the land beneath. Passive cooling systems replace air-conditioning, and buildings are constructed primarily with certified timber and low-impact materials.
ENERGY: Thoughtfully integrated energy-saving systems including LED lighting, solar-powered amenities in development, and natural ventilation that reduces the need for artificial climate control.** LED lighting, natural ventilation, energy-conscious design.

“It felt like entering a hush. Everything slowed, softened, opened. We didn’t just sleep here - we remembered how to feel.”
